Working to raise the profile of small wild cats
Did you know that only 2% of all the wild cat funding goes to 33 species of small cat?
The remaining 98% is divided amongst the 7 big cats. The purpose of the small wildcat resource group is to raise the profile of small wildcats, across a multitude of generations and audiences by providing easy access to education, research, husbandry, conservation and fundraising material. We want to create an area for a community of small wildcat enthusiasts to share their ideas and experiences because Together Everyone Achieves More!

The Small Wild Cat Resource Group is dedicated to supporting the conservation efforts of small wild cats around the world. We aim to provide valuable information and resources to support these fascinating and often overlooked feline species.
The Inspiration
In 2024 zookeepers Lauren Amos and Alice Vassallo visited Nepal to visit conservation organisations working on the ground to protect small cats in the wild. This inspired them to want to do more, a lot more, to aid conservation organisations and to work with other zookeepers to promote the care and conservation of these often elusive but fascinating group of predators.

Please help us and get involved and together we can spread the word for small wildcats!
The Small Wild Cat Resource Group has only just begun, so please bear with us as work hard to build the website and the amount of resources available. This is however, the start of something that we can hope make a difference so please don't hesitate to get involved and join our mission!
